My goals as an artist are simple: Make a living from doing what I love most. I'm passionate about art and design, but really I just like to draw cool stuff and I want to do it everyday! I'm a multi-passionate and I consume everything I can from animation to business branding to local posters; I eat it up, it's like fuel for me.
Far in the distant future I would like to find a balance between being my own boss through freelance work and having something steady with a great tribe of people.
My style is playful, illustrated, and bright. Everything I do includes an illustrated element that translates literally the subject matter. My work is fun and I like to think brings a positive moment to an audience.
From concepts to color. This was my tagline from many years ago when I first started pursuing art, and it still rings true. I think what makes my work unique is the artistic element. I'd like to design a portfolio that demonstrates the idea of sketches morphing into final color concepts. It would include movement, playful elements and express my style through storytelling.
My goals for this semester include maintaining my GPA, build my brand, and making more art! Lucky for me these things all seem to go hand-in-hand.
This class is already challenging me. I knew the thing that would be the most difficult is also what I needed to do most, and that is to take years of work from two disciplines and boil it down to a single element that is my personal brand. I'm looking forward to seeing what I look like on the page!
I'm an illustrator and graphic designer who is desperate to get back to the basics of pencil and paper! I'm challenging myself to sketch everyday for 40 days in hopes of regaining my overall skill, creativity, and wonder!
