It started off one way and ended another. Honestly it was awesome to be making heavy marks and scribbles, not caring what it looked like just feeding my energy onto a paper.
This is more about working from memory rather than a picture, so you can see why people study real life before trying to imitate it. However, there is something to be said for going with the flow and expressing yourself, not matter if it's good or not.
